Avanti, la musica!
Avanti, la musica!
The 5 th , 6 th and 7 th of March, association La Scene Quai Est receives the Neapolitan group Cantodiscanto for three evenings placed under the sign of the South of Italy.
In these times of coldness and of greyness, a gaze towards the south of the Italian peninsula is very indicated to reinflate soon the moral. Then why to deprive itself of a journey, however made on songs and not by the plane. The 5th, 6th and 7 th of March, take "the key of the songs" for a melodic visit of the Neapolitan traditional repertory proposed by the Cantodiscanto group. Invited in Ivry by association La Scene Quai Est, this vocal and instrumental unit will present its new Malmediterraneo album.
Guido Sodo (founder of the group), Silvia Testoni, Guglielmo Pagnozzi, Roberto Bartoli and Paolo Caruso played Italy everywhere, there gaining several prices. They also furrowed Europe, their notoriety exceeding the transalpine borders.
It is in the South, distant or close, that they draw their inspiration. South of Italy initially, from which they take the traditional repertory of music and words of today, preserving its source of language: the Neapolitan one. South of America then, present in their rhythms and harmony. South of the world finally, evoked largely in their texts and guest on scene, in the person of two African musicians (Gabin Dabíre and Lao Kouyate) and of a Palestinian singer (Faisal Taher).
Between folk and interbreeding, Cantodiscanto leaves the beaten musical paths. Its originality rhyme successfully: its Cd Malmediterraneo was classified in Worlds music charts Europe and figures in the Top Ten of Roots magazine.Annie Chastagnol
